What Is Breast Revision Surgery?
"
Breast revision surgery is an option for patients who are dissatisfied with their results or have side effects. Unlike primary surgery, revision surgery is more difficult because it involves reconstructing the entire previously operated space, so it requires an experienced surgeon to accurately diagnose the patient's condition and determine how and when to perform revision surgery based on the patient's symptoms.
About Breast Reoperation –Dr. Kikap Kim
Breast revision surgery is a procedure that can be performed to correct dissatisfaction with the results or side effects. Unlike the primary surgery, it is more difficult because it involves a complete reoperation of the previously operated space, so it is important to consult an experienced surgeon.
This is so that the reasons for the failure of the primary surgery can be accurately analyzed and the appropriate surgical method can be found.
Post-operative dissatisfaction and side effects are the last thing you want, not only for the patient, but also for me as a surgeon. However, I would like to say that I am not particularly worried about this because it is happening a lot less than it used to.
Common Reasons Why You May Need Breast Augmentation Revision
– If the breasts became hard due to capsular contracture
– If the breasts became asymmetrical after surgery
– If you are dissatisfied with the shape or size of your breasts after surgery
– If the implant is deformed or damaged
– If you are concerned after inserting existing Allergan implants and want to replace them
When to have revision surgery
Breast revision surgery is recommended after 6 months to 1 year, when the breast tissue and shape have become more established.
If you have older capsular contracture or inflammation, you may need revision surgery sooner.
I will accurately diagnose your condition and determine the best method and timing of revision surgery for your symptoms after a thorough consultation.
